Overview
Checkout in motion starts with a familiar checkout control — a bar that reads “Buy with Shop Pay” — and takes it off the flat interface. The bar becomes a glowing, dimensional ribbon that bends through dark space, with stacked copies trailing behind it.
Type of work
3D product and interface motion. The checkout language is used as the subject of the animation. This is original work, not a commission from Shop or Shopify.
Role
Amar Benini designed the transformation: from a UI button into a three-dimensional ribbon, including the lighting, the trail, and the camera move around the object.
On screen
The frame is dark. A purple, luminous bar holds white type. As it turns, the type stays readable on the surface. Repeated instances of the same bar recede into depth, like a tunnel of the same control. The motion is continuous rather than a hard cut from interface to abstract form.
Format
Landscape film, 1920×1080, about eight seconds. Made as a product-motion study for a widescreen frame.
